COVID-19 RESPONSE
West Pokot County - (April-May 2020)
Project Overview
Following the global outbreak of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the two-month project was supported by Dan Church Aid (DCA). In order to mitigate possible high infection of the virus among the people of West Pokot, ADS NRR deployed protocols that detail a raft of prevention and containment measures, response mechanisms, and directives that must be adhered to for the safety of the residents.
Achievements
We achieved the following during this project:
- Sensitized over 50,000 people through local Radio stations and 3000 during one on one
- Months Purchase and distribution of over 600 facemasks to help contain the spread
- Supported front the line workers at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital with PPE kits
- Supported front the line workers at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital with PPE kits
- Reached over 20,000 during talk shows and 3,020 through one on one
- Purchased and distributed 187 Hand washing kits,60 hand sanitizers, 9 Thermo guns 2000 facemasks to vulnerable households and churches
