Project Overview
The project which is funded by Dan Church Aid (DCA) is improving resilience among vulnerable small-scale agro producers in West Pokot County targeting 3,200 households which will translate to 19,200 household members.
Our Main Goals
The project aims at contributing towards increased resilience of communities to drought and other effects of climate change in the counties of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot. Specifically promoting Climate resilient technologies among 3,200 food insecure house-holds in 4 sub-counties (2 in West Pokot and 2 in Elgeyo Marakwet) of West Pokot and Elgeyo-Marakwet Counties by December 2024. Also enhancing the self-reliance of 3,200 vulnerable households in 4 sub-counties (2 in West Pokot and 2 in Elgeyo Marakwet) of West Pokot and Elgeyo-Marakwet Counties by them engaging in economically viable and environmentally sustainable initiatives. The project further equips 160 common interest groups in the 4 sub-counties of West Pokot and Elgeyo-Marakwet Counties with advocacy skills for them to influence the implementation of climate-related policies at community level.
