ADS North Rift hosted a successful multi-stakeholder meeting in Iten under the FOSECCA (Food Security and Climate Change Adaptation) project, bringing together representatives from county governments, civil society organizations and faith-based institutions.
The FOSECCA project, implemented in partnership with DanChurchAid and Bread for the World, is designed to strengthen food security and promote climate change adaptation across West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi and Turkana counties.
The meeting served as a platform for stakeholders to reflect on project progress, discuss emerging climate-related challenges, and align on strategic interventions that support community resilience. Emphasis was placed on coordination, shared learning, and reinforcing collaboration to ensure lasting impact.
Participants reviewed key milestones of the project, including improved agricultural practices, environmental conservation efforts, and community-based adaptation strategies. County government officials acknowledged the alignment between FOSECCA’s activities and county development priorities, especially in promoting sustainable livelihoods and natural resource management.
The forum reinforced the importance of integrating local knowledge and inclusive planning in the fight against climate change. Stakeholders agreed on the need for stronger synergy and ongoing dialogue to ensure the sustainability of the interventions being implemented on the ground.
As FOSECCA progresses into its next phase, ADS North Rift continues to prioritize partnerships that build communities and promote sustainable food systems across the North Rift region.
