In the quiet hills of Chesoi, Elgeyo Marakwet County, ADS North Rift, in collaboration with World Vision Kenya, held a Male Care Training session as part of the Grow Enrich project, aiming to reshape how men approach family care, health, and nutrition.
The training brought together men from across the region for a hands-on learning experience focused on improving family well-being through active male involvement. Discussions centered around the vital role men play in ensuring their families eat balanced meals, attend health check-ups, and make smart financial choices that support long-term wellness.
Many of the participants reflected on how cultural expectations have often left caregiving to women. This training offered a fresh perspective: that a father’s involvement in home care is not only supportive, but transformative. By taking part in daily family life, from helping in the kitchen to budgeting for better food, men can drive lasting change.
The session included practical demonstrations, group discussions, and real-life examples that made the learning relatable and actionable. It wasn’t just about theory; it was about building confidence in men to become champions of health and nutrition in their households.
The training also explored the financial side of family care, highlighting how healthier families spend less on preventable illness and are better able to thrive economically. By investing time and attention at home, men can make choices that benefit both their loved ones and their livelihoods.
The Grow Enrich project continues to work with communities to strengthen resilience and promote inclusive development. This Male Care Training is just one step on a longer journey, one where empowered men walk alongside empowered women to build stronger, healthier families.
At ADS North Rift, we believe change begins at the household level. And when men lead with care, everyone moves forward.
