Transforming Maternal and Child Health: Launch of the GROW Enrich Program in Marakwet East

Anglican Development Services North Rift is proud to announce the launch of the GROW Enrich program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing maternal and child health in Marakwet East Sub County. This program is set to impact over half a million residents in our County.

About the GROW Enrich Program

The GROW Enrich program, in collaboration with World Vision Kenya, will be implemented over four years, focusing on improving nutrition services to address malnutrition among children and elevate overall health outcomes for mothers and children. This program aligns with the broader REACT-IN project, which targets Keiyo North, Keiyo South, and Marakwet West Sub Counties over seven years.

Key Components of the Program

  1. Care Group Model: Leveraging community health volunteers to educate and support mothers on vital nutrition and health practices.
  2. Men’s Involvement: Promoting male participation in family health to ensure a comprehensive approach to maternal and child care.
  3. Bio-fortification: Introducing nutrient-rich crops to combat malnutrition and enhance food security.

Collaborative Effort

The launch event saw the participation of esteemed partners, including Marie Bettings from World Vision Canada, Dr. Asirat Dibaba, Chief of Party for REACTS-IN, and Martha Nyang’aya from Nutrition International (NI). Their involvement underscores the collaborative spirit and shared dedication to improving health outcomes in our region.
